Child Care Connection Policies

Communities Together for Children/Ontario Early Years Centre offers a child care registry to residents of Thunder Bay and surrounding townships. The purpose of this registry is to list possible child care options for parents.

It is acknowledged and understood that Communities Together for Children does not screen or provide back-ground checks on these providers, so families are strongly encouraged to properly check out any provider whose name they receive from this agency.

It is the responsibility of the families to consider the following things when they are choosing child care providers:

• Screen those persons providing child care
• Inspect the premises of those providing child care
• Check references for those providing child care
• Learn about the educational qualifications or experience of the child care providers

Liabilities related to damages, negligence or quality of child care provided is the responsibility of the provider, not Communities Together for Children.

The responsibility for choosing a child care provider and monitoring the care provided rests with the parent/guardian of the child in care. Placement of the name of a child care provider on the registry does not oblige Communities Together for Children to refer those seeking child care to any particular child care provider.
